Black Dog Cellars was inspired by a passion for great wine and born from a vision and dream by Michael Haney after decades of wine travels, developing and fostering wonderful friendships and relationships with some of the worlds greatest winemakers and professionals, and years of personal and professional involvement in the wine industry. 

So in 2009, after serving on numerous wine related board of directors and leading America's original and oldest charity wine auction as Executive Director, Michael decided to use his hard earned savings he had put away for years and pursue his dream and venture into creating his own wine company and label... 

Black Dog Cellars.

Named after his beloved "Black Dogs" Boomer and Zoie, Black Dog Cellars released our very first wine in June 2010. Since that inaugural and memorable release, Black Dog Cellars has proudly focused on four main varietals. Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Syrah. In the Spring of 2013 Black Dog Cellars also introduced and released our "sibling label" Black Puppy. 

Our mission is simple. To make world-class wines at a world-class value and have a fantastic time while doing just that! We believe wine in all of it's beautiful varietals and expressions should be fun, festive and enhance our daily lives all the while helping to foster and create a lifetime of memorable moments, experiences and great friends!

Course in addition to our wines, Black Dog Cellars feels strongly about being involved and active in the communities we are found in. "Giving back" and helping in our small way to enhance the lives of those in our communities is at the foundation of who we are at Black Dog cellars.
